Mental Health First Aid Course

What will I learn?

Mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety and eating disorders, are common and often start at a young age. More than 1 in 10 young people meet the criteria for a mental health condition however 70% who experience a mental health problem have not had appropriate intervention, at a sufficiently early age.

Our courses use robust evidence-based research and are designed to teach staff, volunteers and parents alike how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill health. The training gives people the skills and confidence to safely address mental health issues in young people aged 8 to 18, with a strong practical focus on how to support a young person experiencing mental distress.

Testimonials

“The mental health first aid course was fantastic. I felt it really gave myself and the staff a better understanding and awareness of not only the children’s mental health but that of ourselves and our colleagues. I would even go as far as to say it has changed the way I deal with situations and people not only in my professional life but in my personal life too. Highly recommended!”
